15 January 2012 - My first 4-day weekend

Today is a good day. I finished the first chapter in the book that my wife and I are writing together. I am still in Army AIT (Advanced Individual Training) far away from her, but at least we can talk on the phone, email, and skype. In Basic Training, we had none of those luxuries.

I hope to continue to work on this book in between classes, communicating with family and friends, and spending time with my friends here at AIT.

I'll keep you informed to the progress of this book as well as the poetry book which I plan on publishing soon. It will have some of my favorite poems in it.

December 28, 2011 - Christmas Exodus

Graduation from Army Basic Training was on December 1st. I graduated as the Soldier of the Cycle which is a great honor. I am now enjoying time with my family while on Christmas Exodus but I will be going back to Advanced Individual Training soon. Throughout my training I have been writing and I look forward to publishing another book again soon. I hope that you had a Merry Christmas and that you will have a Happy New Year as well!

July20, 2011 - 2 months until Basic Training

I will be leaving for boot camp in September. I will be going active duty in the Army. My plans are to continue writing and to publish some more books after basic training.

I'll try to post another update or two before I go, but if not, I plan on giving updates once I am done with basic training.

January 22, 2011 - Update

I will be takign part in an event on Tuesday, January 25th, at the Pinellas Park Library. Unfortunately, I will not be reading my children's book, I'd Choose a Fish, or anyone else's book. I will be playing the part of the Chick-fil-A cow. The librarian did tell me to send her an email and that they should be able to let me take part in one of their upcomming programs. To me, that is really exciting news.

In my last blog, I mentioned that I had just taken part in the Turkey Trot, which takes place in Clearwater, FL, on Thanksgiving Day every year. It took all of my efforts to run that 5k (3.1 miles). Now, I run an average of two miles per day. I do not know if I will be participating in any more 5k runs again soon, but I look forward to improving my time when I do.

My wife is having a lot of fun making Kool-Aid items. This is a great way for us to encourage recycling. She started a website (www.supergreenlabel.com) and sells purses, wallets, keychains, backpacks, and many more items made entirely out of Kool-Aid and Capri Sun packages.

Our daughter is a year and a half old now. She is a lot of fun.

Thank you for checking my blog. Please continue to check back for updates. Also, please "like" my facebook page in order to receive the latest information.

November 30, 2010 - Christmas Pictures

Today my family went to the beach to take our Christmas pictures. Our little one loved it. We hope that everyone likes our pictures this year... they certainly took a lot of preparation... but it was worth it.

I have lost some weight recently. I now weigh about what I did when my wife and I were married. It feels good. I have been eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and I have been jogging. That seems to help a lot. On Thanksgiving, I participated in my first 5k run. The Turkey Trot in Clearwater, FL. I am hoping to participate in other events like that in the future. By next year, I want to be able to run the 10k.

I am still going to donate 50% of any royalty check which I receive in 2010 to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Tampa, and I have about one month to decide which charity to donate to for 2011. Please remind your local library, school, or church that they can purchase my books on Amazon.com and www.lulu.com.

Thank you for following my blog.

Sincerely,

June 8, 2010 - Life In General

Baby is almost a year old now. She is so much fun.

Chick-fil-A just launched the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. If you like spicy food, you should probably give it a try.

This is the week of the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL. This is the second year which I will not be attending. (Last year because baby was born and this year because I am going to my sister's graduation... both events very worthwhile.)Hopefully I will be able to go back next year.

My jumpdrive crashed, but I think I was able to salvage most of the information... I guess only time will tell if I was able to salvage everything.

I should have another book of poetry out soon through www.lulu.com
Also, I'd Choose A Fish is now available through Amazon.com

Please keep checking back and remember that 50% of my royalty checks for 2010 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Tampa.
